Dig Delight Direct Drive~
Probably one of the coolest idol franchises I have ever come across.
I first got into D4DJ around late 2020-early 2021. I watched the anime and instantly fell in love with it. My favourite aspect of D4DJ is its focus on electronic music, which I love, and not to be #ThatGuy, but the portrayals of DJing and production were pretty accurate!
The anime at its core is pretty much CGDCT central. It's really cute watching Rinku grasp the basics of DJing and the shenanigans that HapiAra get up to. Unfortunately the anime really only focuses on HapiAra, so to learn about the other + extra units, you have to play.... The Game. At first I was a little apprehensive to playing the game, as it is your typical idol-rhythm-gacha ordeal, but I actually really like it!
I first played the JP version then transferred to EN. Big mistake, but we ball. The music selection in the game is really really good compared to other games in the idol-rhythm-gacha space. There's touhou remixes so it gets +99 more points compared to other games for me. F2P is absolutely possible in this game, you can easily grind for gems on auto as long as you have a unit that can SS clear songs, achievements can also give you gems, and sometimes gems are given out for free in events! As of writing, the 4th anniversary event is ongoing, and after this event we get 100 pulls + 6k gems if you log in every day for free! Which can definitely get you enough cards to have at least a full 3*, or even 4* unit, if you're lucky enough!
My favourite unit is Photon Maiden and my favourite characters are Towa, Date-chan, Sophia and Elsie. My top favorite character is Towa though... I fell for the moe trap as usual...
I have a lot of love for this game, and I'm always excited for new stuff, especially if it involves Photon Maiden.. that's the only time you'll ever see me active ingame. My player ID is Bxj5K3NV if you want to add me!
